God behind bars?!

In Rhode Island, a convicted murderer of a parking lot attendant has been banned from preaching to his fellow inmates in jail. The murderer claims that he received a calling from God, making his preachings relevant. The new warden of the prison has prohibited the preaching saying that it was "dangerous to give an inmate such position of authority." Spratt's, the convicted murderer, argues that her client's preaching was always supervised and never posed a security problem.

"He did it weekly, he did it openly, he did it incident-free," was her claim. The federal Bureau of Prison actually permits the preaching only if it is supervised, of which it was. Spratt argues that the preaching ban violates a federal law passed in 2000 that allows prisoners certain rights in practicing their religion. The law is known as the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act which requires the government to show there is an interest in infringing on an inmate's religious practices and must use the least restrictive means if it prohibits a prisoner's religious observances.

The appeals court didn't indicate when the trial will be ruled but the judges seemed skeptical of the corrections department's arguments. The things that Spratt has been preaching for years hasn't caused a problem yet and things seem the say that way.

Religious beliefs=GOOD......Discrimination=BAD

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has announced this Tuesday that he'll be launching a program to enforce protection against religious discrimination. The name of his program is known as the First Freedom Project which would increase the education about religious discrimination. Apparently he has also announced that he'll be creating the Religious Freedom Task Force of whom would review discrimination cases that dealt with religion.

``One of our most cherished freedoms ... is our religious freedom,'' he said. ``It is a fundamental part of our nation's history.''

The Attorney General has also said that a new report has shown that under the Bush administration discrimination in schools have increased. Over the years of closes examination of accounts of discrimination, the housing and credit department has grown from four investigations and one lawsuit to 18 investigations and six lawsuits.

Bible school every day of the week!!!

Southern state Georgia has stepped out of the boundaries and now offerers a religious based class to be taken during school. Two literature classes (History of the Old Testament Era and History of the New Testament Era) will be incorporated into the curriculum. The Bible has been part of the lessons in Georgia and other states but things have became more in-dept, some are even saying that the state is treading into "dangerous turf." The Constitution states freedom of religion but many relate it the separation of state and church.

Senate Majority Leader Tommie Williams, the Republican who sponsored the plan, said the Bible plays a major role in history and is important in understanding many classic literary works.

"It's not just 'The Good Book,'" Williams said. "It's a good book."
Georgia has set a polity to endorse and fund Bible classes statewide while using the U.S. Constitution as their defense. The Legislature approved their bill only making sure that the courses didn't wonder off into religious teachings.

No more nativity :(

The nativity scene is a common occurrence that is seen during the Christmas time. Apparenty, due to certain circumstances, the expression of religious symbols are not in the favor of many in society. The Supreme Court on February 21, 2007 denied to re-examine this case. The case first came about when a mother (Andrea Skoros) of two was attending a Catholic School. The nativity scene was nowhere to be seen. This case was first filed in 2002.

Skors has claimed that the city's policy allowed religious symbols pertaining to Judaism and Islam but created ill statements towards Christianity...Very peculiar...what would be the logic in only allowing a few religions celebrate the holiday's while others are banned? President Bush actually tried to push for the nativity scene to stand in the yards of many schools. He has tried to incorporate his religious beliefs into government but due to many conflicts and disagreements we are yet to dwell within a religious based government.

Abortion...A life and death situation....

Why young innocent children be punished for the sins of their elders?
Ignorance is a horrible thing that can and will negatively affect a person or an entire society. Most women who do follow through with abortion usually aren't even knowledgable about the very subject. If women truly knew what abortion really was they wouldn't even consider it.

The horrendous act of abortion has a specific process to it. An unborn baby, still in the fetus stay, may be injected with special fluids to create a miscarage for the mother.

Other times a "partial-birth abortion" takes place...
After three days of dilating the cervix, the abortionist reaches up the birth canal, grasps a leg and pulls it down and out, then the other leg, body, arms and shoulder. At this point with a gentle pull, he could deliver the final 3 or 4 inches (the head) and send the baby to the nursery. Rather, he inserts scissors into the base of the baby's skull, seperates the blades, and inserts a suction tube into the skull and sucks out the brains. This kills the baby who is then removed.

What goes on in the mind of the doctor while preforming an abortion? Does their conscience throb at the sight of the mound of dead flesh, or do they recoil at the idea of them killing an innocent life? Abortion is a defilement to society that has taken the life of too many innocent babies. When a mother gives the "ok" for an abortion she too is being a part of the murder. Who in their right mind can deliver a baby 2/3's of the way just to break the skull of the baby and suck out their small brains? At the end of the day, the blood of many babies lay on the hands of the doctors the have taken their lives.
